When he again encounters Dorothy, she gets him a job as a salesman with her father's light-and-power company, and proves to be a a real "live-wire" salesman. He is then put in charge of the lighting in an amusement park being built under Dorothy's supervision, and trouble comes many directions, guided by Dorothy's cad fiancée who wants to make the stock in the project worthless so he can buy it cheaply.

A tramp, who turns out to be Rena's long-lost father, steals the option from the crooks, and Rena obtains evidence that clears her father of a scheme in which he had innocently been involved. Freed by the police, Bob boards the train, is lifted from the roof of the speeding train by an airplane, and arrives at the field in time to save his team from defeat.

- Billie Ritchie, who is blessed with a numerous family, many bills and a small income, has great trouble in avoiding his many creditors. His adventures are too numerous to mention. He is rather attracted to a neighbor who has a jealous husband, but his efforts to see her are interrupted by a mysterious man, who finally corners Billy and tells him that he wishes to hand him a legacy. Billy, who has employed various subterfuges in order to get a chance to talk to his fair neighbor, at last sees his opportunity and arranges with her to meet him at the telephone company's masquerade. The wires get crossed and wifie becomes suspicious. She goes to the ball followed by her large family. These she masks and mixes in with the guests. Her husband's gay actions finally cause him to become a storm center and in order to escape a mobilization of angry husbands he has to flee across the telegraph wires. They follow him and he is captured and punished after a spirited chase.

- The use of the wonders of science in the settlement of the west impressed the Indians as being nothing short of miraculous, and they underwent some peculiar experiences before they learned the mysteries of the telegraph and telephone. In this film two linemen, repairing a fallen wire, are forced by the Indians to abandon their work and the redmen then run afoul of the charged line. One by one the redskins dance to a lively tune while trying to subdue the power of the copper strand; even the chief, so formidable in war, is an easy victim of the peculiar influence of the bare wire. By this time the electricians have returned to the power station and shut off the current in the section where the break occurred. The Indian chief promises his daughter and his war bonnet to the brave who will overcome the dangerous wire. All refuse to try for the prize except one, a despised cripple, who, now that the current is off, is not in the least affected when he winds the wire about his body.
- When Willard Geddie is told by his sweetheart Ida Payne's fortune-hunting mother that Ida no longer wishes to see him, the heartbroken man leaves New York and accepts an official position in the small South American country of Coralio. He lives an idle life there until news arrives that the President of Coralio and his mistress, an American opera singer, are planning to abscond with the country's treasury. By mistake, Geddie captures the President of an American insurance company who is trying to enter Coralio with embezzled money, after which the criminal commits suicide. Meanwhile, Ida arrives in South America looking for Geddie, but she is erroneously identified as the President's mistress and refused permission to come ashore. A detective from New York later arrests the President and the opera singer, believing them to be the embezzler and his wife. Finally the confusion is cleared up and Geddie returns to New York with the stolen insurance money and Ida.
